About the founder

Kenard Lang is a native Floridian, raised in the Central Florida community. Growing up, Kenard was active in community service and church organizations. He attended Maynard Evans High School where he excelled in academics and athletics. He furthered his education and athletic dreams at the University of Miami (FL), where he forewent his senior year to pursue a career in the National Football League. Kenard was selected in the first round, in the 1997 NFL draft by the Washington Redskins. He also had the opportunity to play for both the Cleveland Browns and the Denver Broncos. Kenard retired after ten years of playing in the NFL. He has a love for helping the youth to get a better education and hopes to be a voice in educating people with regards to taking preventative measures in the fight against cancer. Kenard is a God-fearing man whose faith has catapulted him in both his professional and personal life. His parents instilled in him as a child the scripture Hebrews 11:1 ‘ Now, faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.’ It is this faith in God that sustains Kenard in his life and his efforts to make a difference. He is an active member of the New Covenant Baptist Church of Orlando where the third floor of the church’s Family Life Center is affectionately named “Kenard’s Huddle.” His donation to the church made its completion possible. He is the proud father of two daughters Aubrey and Mia.
