Our History
| The Kenard Lang Foundation
is a not-for-profit, 501 c 3 organization established in
2002 that desires to work together with other foundations
and corporations to make a true effort toward making a
better tomorrow. KLF has modified its focus as to be able to
do a few things well rather than many things partially. The
new direction of KLF is directed specifically on cancer,
youth and education. The mission of the Kenard Lang
Foundation is to inspire people to love life though living
with cancer, while making provisions for the future by
encouraging our youth through education. |
About the Founder
Kenard Lang is a native
Floridian, that was raised in the Central Florida community.
Growing up, Kenard was active in community service and
church organizations. He attended Maynard Evans High School
where he excelled in academics and athletics. He furthered
his education and athletic dreams at the University of Miami
(FL), where he forewent his senior year to pursue a career
in the National Football League.
After being selected in the first round, 17th pick overall
in the 1997 draft by the Washington Redskins, Kenard is in
the tenth season in the NFL. This is his first season with
the
Denver Broncos after four seasons on the
roster of the Cleveland Browns. Kenard has come to a place
in his professional career where he is striving to use the
talents and blessings that he has been given to make a
difference in society. He has a love for children and
education, and hopes to be a voice in educating people with
regards to taking preventative measures in the fight against
cancer.
Kenard is a God-fearing man whose faith has catapulted him
in both his professional and personal life. His parents
instilled in him as a child that faith is the substance of
things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. It is
this faith that sustains Kenard in his life and efforts to
make a change. He is an active member of the New Covent
Baptist Church of Orlando where the third floor of the
church’s Family Life Center is affectionately named
“Kenard’s Huddle”, for his donation that made its completion
possible. |
